The Beauty is So Close to Me is a work about how I am experiencing the pandemic. I started making a visual diary very early on in the crisis, as a way to articulate my feelings during these frightening times. Being confined is terrifying, but it has helped me to see and appreciate what surrounds me with a new clarity. This project weaves together thoughts and emotions about home, family, solitude, longing, isolation, memories and the notion of time. I want to revel in the beauty around me and show my gratitude for everything that I have. I want to create something in the midst of all of this chaos.
